Why You Shouldn't Coach Your Kid From The Sidelines In Basketball

Basketball is a game where you need to have patience, immediate thinking and trusting yourself. As a player, you need to pay attention to the game all the time and have a fast response with other players. Every period of games is necessary for basketball. A player has to show or perform as per his/her ability. The Situation in a game is very significant and the audience also plays a big role in a game.
When a player receives the message from the coach, he/she tries to follow it. But, In many occasions we witness people, family member tries to send instructions to players from the sidelines. Parents or supporter thinks they are helping the player by giving suggestion but frankly speaking, no they aren't. They make him/her bewildered, such comments from the audience can break confidence and ways of thinking. Player remains in the confusion so that he/she need to follow the coach or those comments. This happens with the young players mostly.

How A Parent Take Part In Coaching From The Audience?
Every parent wants to provide the best advantages for their young player to make them succeed in games. So, they end up coaching their sons and daughters from the sidelines in a game. They see and feel that player should do some improvement in some stages, they started to express it by loudly shouting or sending messages.
Occasionally, they started to shout or call a player name to catch player attraction. In youth basketball game you would see turnover, missed shots, wrong passes etc things and parents shows more disappointment towards it. Then they started to give suggestions thinking that they are helping their young players. Parents become crazy consistently when the referee doesn't give the call as they foresee for their players or things happens to like their kid got fouled or injured but referee's don't agree to this.

How A Young Player Get Affected From Sideline Coaching?
Sideline coaching can easily destroy a player gaming mindset, team enthusiasm, make him distracted on a game. Every professional coach gives the team plans for a game. But, when the audience and family members tried to think about the game and give suggestions rather than enjoying it. Young players get perplexed in the middle of the game.
A kid age 8-15 years old, It is hard for him/her to concentrate all the times on the game. The coach gives them plans and tries to follow them no matter what situation occurs on the game. But, when a player do mistakes similar like have a missed shot or can't finish the ball in the net. His/Her confidence get low down, a player needs commitment and encouragement from the other players. A Boo from the audience at that time really harms his/her confidence. The audience also started to suggest what to do next than confusing part comes up for the player that should he/she follow the coach plan or do what's people feeling right now. So, Words from the sideline can play a big part in the junior level of basketball matches.

Kinds Of Stuff Parents Shouldn't Do From The Sidelines
Every parent dreams of to imagine their child as an NBA star in the future. So, they try to give every possible thing for their child betterment. Most of the times they give extra burden to them by setting some goals and wanted their young players to achieve them. Also, parents start to coach them on the game from sidelines not believing what team coach trying to do. It does fell upon players and they couldn't play their free-flowing game. Things as a parent you should do if you wanted to make your player as an NBA star:
·        Try to cheer to for the team, support his/her motive or he/she trying to do in a game. Don't try to mislead him/her by giving suggestions that how a game should be played.
·        Support coach tactics, Referee decisions whether it goes for the team or not.
·        Always try to keep the focus off performance, Concentrate on fun and enjoyment.
·        Ensure that he/she get a chance to spend time with other players.
·        Be supportive towards him/her and make him/her lead.
·        Don't underestimate other parents, try to be friendly.
·         If he/she wanted your advice about improving his/her skills, you can spend time with him/her on the court.
·         Advice him/her to enjoy the game, try to give his/her best performance and learn something from every game.

Coach's Point Of View On Sideline Coaching From Parents
If you ask a coach that how much a game depends on player mindset, the coach will reply that 70% of game-winning possibility depends on player thinking ability and confidence. If the players aren't concentrating on the game hardly a team wins. So, team bonding and players commitment to the game is vital. From a young basketball team coach, you will commonly observe that when young players listen to their parent's voice from the crowd or sidelines they lose their attention to the game and focus converted to the sidelines.
When an 8-10 years old kid receives a different kind of messages from the coach and their parents, they have been put in a stressful situation. Kids will look after there parents rather than concentrating on the game.
Most of the players don't perform well under stress as they do perform when they're relaxed and confident. Not in just junior leagues levels all the way up to high school games you will see some players to follow their parents on every sign from the stands. They put effort to make their parents happy rather than thinking about the game.

A Young Player Mentality Towards A Game
An 8-14 years old kid rarely have something think about in agile time on a game. So, he/she tries to follow the coach instructions that was given to him/her before the game. Basketball is a game where things happen in split seconds. A player needs to make quick decisions in a short time that should he/she go for a shot or pass? which way he/she move for rebound? on fastbreak who do, he/she guard? these sorts of things. If he/she can't find a way by own self and searching guide in the stands for every action, he/she surely not having own decision-making skills.
No matter what, a kid always give more importance to their parents. As like home they wanted the approval of their parents for taking steps in the game. Its a simple nature of kids. So, the parents play a big role in their teenage career. Young players just look for the best possible solution in following the parents or the coach.

My Opinion

Sideline coaching in a match doesn't benefit your child or player, it only can demoralize their morale and conclusion on the game. Always no just think about the games. Ask your kid questions as of how was the day? how good have you been doing? Did you have fun?. Be friendly towards your kid so that he/she could find motivation from it. If parents, the coach can play their part from their end without any confusion with proper training and practise a player could broaden his/her basketball career.
Supporting your child, fare coaching and proper guidelines could make your son and daughter the next NBA superstar. You never know!

Do you need an algae scrubber?

One of the greatest tools for beating down algae is algae scrubber. If you haven’t heard of algae scrubber before, then stick on!

What is an algae scrubber?

Algae scrubber is a small handy tool that effectively cleans off algae from aquarium glass. It generally consists of two parts. One part is for the inside and the other is for the outside. Both parts follow each others motion due to a strong magnetic field.

The inside part has a brush panel or blades with it to remove algae from the glass. The outside part has a handle. So, whenever you drag the outer part, the inside part will follow its motion and clean off algae from its path.

Generally, most of the algae scrubber found in these days is magnetic. As there are thousands of algae scrubber for sale in the market, it can be quite tough to pick a good one.

Hence, here are some characteristics of a good algae scrubber:

-> The scrubber should have a strong magnetization

-> The inside part should have stainless steel blades for glass tank and plastic blades for acrylic tanks.
-> Most good algae scrubbers have anti-floating mechanism with them. So, even if the two pieces get separated from each other, the inside piece will float on the top of the aquarium.

-> The outer part should have a nice comfortable grip.

-> A good algae scrubber removes the most consistent algae within a couple of swipes.

Do you really need one?

Personally, I think, every aquarium owner should have these in their arsenal against a battle with algae. They are very cheap products with extreme usage. It saves time and energy to clean the aquarium glass.

So, why not invest some dollars and make your life comfortable?

How to know your aquarium needs fertilizer?

Dosing fertilizer in an aquarium is a pretty confusing step for every planted tank owners. Most hobbyists often wonder how to know their tank needs aquarium plant fertilizer, which fertilizer to dose, how to dose and so on. In this article, I am going to tell you how to know your aquarium needs fertilizer.

The first factor to look out for is the amount and intensity of light you are providing to your aquarium. In high intensity light environment, plants tend to absorb more nutrients. As a result, for excessive absorption, a scarcity of nutrients may occur. On the other hand, in low light tanks, plants don’t absorb much nutrients. So, these tanks typically do fine without any further supplement of fertilizers. Now, it’s time for you to know what type of light, how much intensity of light you are offering to the tank. It solely depends on the species of plant you have. Some plants need high light to thrive (i.e. Rotala Macrandra) and some do fine with less intense light (I.e. Anubias nana). If you have plants that do well in high light, then it’s safe to dose fertilizers. Click here to know more about it.

The second factor to look out for is Carbon dioxide. With additional carbon dioxide supplement, plants tend to absorb more nutrients. Again, the need of supplementing carbon dioxide is directly Co related to the amount of light. If there is highlighted in the tank, the plants will need additional carbon dioxide. With additional carbon dioxide, you’ll also have to dose fertilizers. On the other hand, in low light tanks, there is no need to supplement additional carbon dioxide. As a result, there is no need to dose fertilizers.

The third factor to look out for is if your plants are showing any nutrient deficiency. If they are, it is probably because there is not enough nutrients in the water column and you need to start dosing fertilizers.

So, that’s how you can know if your aquarium needs any fertilizer or not. If you are still confused, comment below and I’ll get to you as soon as I can!
